The Cesera System
The Cesera System is located on far side of the Beta Quadrant. It is roughly 10 light years from the Romulan Neutral Zone and is situated between Federation Starbase 123 and 174. The planetary system is a central hub for trade and commerce for the surrounding systems including the Klingon Empire and the Romulan Star Empire.

Cesera Prime
Commerce and politics are the ruling philosophy on Cesera Prime. When the former Union sanctioned unlimited private enterprise to bolster industry during the initial days of the Ra’zae rebellion, the already deep-rooted black market gained massive political strength. Since the recent fall of the Union however, various prominent Union defectors have attempted to take power. Along with the Federations help, a temporary governing body was put in place. However, there is a growing sentiment that the elections were merely a staged event. To that point, most of the top government positions are still run by leaders of the former Union. The world is highly mechanized and covered mostly by sprawling cities. The Union had a few small zones that were protected against mechanization; but since the Ra’zae rebellion and the abrupt blockade of the planets energy supply, these natural sites are beginning to be exploited for their resources. Additionally, the planet’s atmosphere has become highly contaminated from the quick and hasty build up of industry. Currently there are plans to migrate a major portion of the population to A’ren throughout the next century due to the increasingly toxic nature of the atmosphere.

Ra’kazek
Ra’kazek is a volcanic proto planet surrounded by a large asteroid ring. It was the Union's hub for manufacturing and resource collection until the Ra'zae rebellion began. Not many details are known about the Ra'zae or their world due to their highly secretive nature and the obstruction of the planets surface by a highly charged magnetic ash cloud. However it is known that the reclusive Ra’zae inhabit the surface of the two most stable continents, but recent questions have surfaced as to how the Ra’zae have been able to produce such vast machinery in such a small habitable area. Although the Ra’zae and Cae share the same ancestry, the conditions on Ra’kazek have twisted them into a frightening parallel species. The Ra’zae have grown entirely dependent on technology to survive the harsh climate and working conditions. The only contact between the Cae and Ra’zae is at the lunar colony on the moon of Ka’rasis.

A’ren
Previously uninhabitable prior to its terraforming around the early 22nd Century, the original settlors of the planet were political dissidents of the Cae Planetary Union. They abandoned Cesera Prime in an effort to find a simpler way of life. The small populations of A’ren are pacifists and avoid any sort of involvement in the conflict between the Cae and Ra’zae and mostly stick to an agrarian and religious lifestyle. This, their spiritual nature and the relative anonymity in the surrounding systems, A'ren has attracted one of the largest refugee Vulcan populations outside of the Alpha Quadrant. Plagued with frequent tremors, it is clear now that the terraforming was not entirely successful. It is often debated by leading Cae scientists that A’ren is a dying planet. This theory has mostly been ignored and the eventual relocation of a large part of the Cesera Prime population to A'ren is currently in its initial stages.

Ka’rasis
The moon of Ka’rasis was created by a collision between Ra’kazek and an unknown world millions of years ago. The remaining debris from the collision either coalesced into what is now Ka’rasis or collected into the large asteroid ring orbiting Ra’kazek. There is only a single military colony that serves as a place for ambassadors from the Cae and Ra’zae to meet and negotiate new commercial contracts as well as planetary governing matters. The Cae military heavily controls the interplanetary traffic going to and from Ka’rasis, as it is the bottleneck of diplomacy between to the two warring worlds.

Un’cerar and the "Wash"
Being the sole mass-energy collection facility in the system, it is no surprise why Un’cerar is the most heavily guarded outpost in the former Union. The Un’cerar facility was hastily commissioned after tensions arose with the Ra’zae, who were previously the main suppliers of energy for the surrounding planets before the civil war began. When it was clear that the Ra’zae would no longer be supplying the energy needed, Union leaders looked for a quick solution. They suggested a mass network of collectors to be deployed on the surface of the planet closest to the Ceseran sun and throughout the numerous nebulas that litter space nearby. Additionally, a system of energy transmitting conduits would transport the refined energy to Cesera Prime. This river of refined, volitile energy came to be known as the “Wash.”
