Our Enterprise-C Bridge Design

We would like to happily present our floorpan for our bridge design. Some is old, some is new but we hope to honor both the "classic" Ent-C as well as the Probert Ambassador. The basic bridge design is constrained by what we saw in Yesterdays Enterprise, however the surrounding spaces come new with the Probert Ambassador class. The vertical space is split between three levels to more firmly separate the higher level officers from the lower ranks. The other prominent feature of our bridge will be a massive, curved view-screen that will dominate the forward portion of the bridge. Keep in mind this isn't a 100% accurate "blue print" style floorplan, but just an illustration of the design theme. Big thanks to Sean Tourangeau for working with us on putting this together. We hope you like it!

Cool, are you planning to build this whole set, or will be be CG, or something between the two? Looks like a large space.

Also are all those position right up against the view screen? they'll get square eyes sitting that close, or the 24thC equivalent. More seriously will it not pack out the space with too many people, unless that's what you are going for.

Dave,
We are planning to build this whole set but we plan to augment it with some CGI where necessary. The bridge as seen in Yesterday's Enterprise was I believe a redress of the D battle bridge (also STI-VI bridge) so those are the dimensions we are sticking to. There was a lot of empty space forward of the two consoles as seen on screen so we mostly just took advantage of that space.

The forward positions are very close to the view-screen. About 36" or so. Our thoughts on this is that since these are lower ranking crew orchestrating the incoming and outgoing information from their departments, they'll be focused more on their consoles rather than the view screen. Hope that answers your questions Dave. :)

Take care,
Dan

Hi Dan

Thanks for the reply. Now that you've said it fits in the battle bridge footprint it makes a bit more sense and doesn't seem SO BIG!

Good luck with the work, I love the style of this project and I look forward to seeing more concept work.

Wouldn't the CONN need to use the view screen a lot? Or will there be something like a set of virtual glasses used? Just wondering. Love this whole idea and can't wait to see it!

Jamey, the idea is that those department members are given 100% of the required data on their consoles so they don't have a need to look at the view screen. It's more for the senior officers at the appropriate distance away. Thanks for the kind words and the enthusiasm! Take care.
